From Research to Innovation: Allsee Showcases AI-Powered Digital Signage Content at Royal Society Event
Nearly two years after announcing our partnership with Dr. Jianbo Jiao through the prestigious Royal Society Short Industry Fellowship, we’re proud to share how this collaboration continues to drive innovation in digital signage and artificial intelligence.
This week, Dr. Jianbo Jiao and Henry Qu, Head of Technology at Allsee, had the honour of presenting their latest research at Creating Connections West Midlands 2026. The event brought together leaders from academia, industry and government to discuss the future of research, innovation and regional technological opportunities.
Their presentation highlighted the progress of COMPaD (Commercial-Oriented Multi-modal Poster Generation and Design), an innovative project developed through the ongoing collaboration between the University of Birmingham and Allsee.
Bringing AI Research into Commercial Digital Signage
The COMPaD project explores how advances in AI can transform the way businesses create and manage digital signage content. While creating promotional posters and advertising materials traditionally involves multiple stages of design, revision and approval, COMPaD streamlines this process by enabling users to generate and optimise content using AI-powered tools.
The presentation demonstrated how AI can support content creation workflows while maintaining the flexibility and control that businesses require for marketing campaigns. This approach reflects a growing trend across the industry, where AI is becoming an essential tool for improving efficiency, creativity and commercial impact.
For Allsee, it represents an exciting opportunity to develop next-generation solutions that empower businesses to create professional digital signage content faster and more effectively.
Driving Innovation Through Collaboration
The Royal Society Short Industry Fellowship was established to encourage knowledge exchange between academia and industry. Through this collaboration, we continue to support research that bridges AI innovation with real-world commercial applications.
Projects such as COMPaD show how academic research can grow into practical technologies that deliver real value. As AI continues to reshape industries worldwide, we remain committed to investing in innovation that benefits our partners, customers and the wider digital signage sector.
We’re proud to see the continued success of this collaboration and look forward to further developments as we continue exploring the future of AI-powered content and digital signage.
